Club Lunch Raises £600 For Combat Stress

The Club’s first ‘speaker’ event of 2018 featured Jay Allen as guest of honour and speaker.

Jay served in the British Army for over 12 years as an Advanced Trauma Medic, until a series of incidents saw him eventually discharged in 2004.

However rather than use this as an excuse to ‘give up’ he has gone on to become a global award-winning motivational speaker, author and businessman.

Since leaving hospital, he has either bought, acquired or set up from scratch four of his own businesses and co-founded two others.

Rather than shy away from his past, Jay remains true to his Royal Army Medical Corp motto In Arduis Fidelis (Faithful Through Adversity), and spoke of his battle for acceptance and understanding in a civilian workplace still holding many preconceived perceptions regarding mental health issues.

In 2017 he was added to the Smith & Williamson POWER 100 List as one of the UK’s leading business Influencers and Mental Health Ambassadors.

His theme for the Lunch gathering was ’Warning: Your marketing plan might be working!

The Club was, once again, pleased to welcome a group of members from Tattenhall Business Club.

Following the Lunch the Club made a donation of £619.80 to the Combat Stress charity, of which Jay Allen is a Regional Ambassador.
