Club

I have been a member for several years and was elected to the executive council in 2010. The club offers a wonderful opportunity to create friendships, interesting social activities, and gives members the chance to be part of an organisation representing the views of local business people within the Chester community and having a say on how the city develops.

Work

I retired in 2011 after 46 years in journalism, the last 20 years in various senior management roles, including editing the Chester Chronicle during a period it was named UK (and North West) weekly newspaper on several occasions. I try to pass on some of that experience as a visiting lecturer in journalism at the University of Chester.

Life

With five grown up children and a rather cute little Yorkshire terrier, Olivia and I live in Helsby and enjoy cinema visits and eating out (probably because I offered to cook after retiring). I am a member of the Chester Renaissance Board and chairman of the Frodsham Rainbow Club (a social club for adults with learning difficulties). I continue to be an active member of the Society of Editors in the North West.
