Sir Martyn Lewis CBC was guest of honour and speaker at the April Club Dinner

Sir Martyn was for 32 years a television journalist and anchored every mainstream national news programme on ITV & BBC (including News At Ten and the Six o'Clock News), and now works extensively in the voluntary sector.

Currently serving a second term as Chairman of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations(NCVO) and also Chairman of The Queens Award for Voluntary Service, he was knighted in the Queens New Year's Honours for his service to the hospice movement.

He was recently appointed a Director of IPSO (The Independent Press Standards Organisation which replaced the Press Complaints Commission) and campaigns regularly for more coverage of the achievements of the voluntary sector in the national media, and, more generally, for "solutions-driven journalism", the subject of his speech to the Club.
